10 kWp & storage for up to 80 % self-generated power

Our customer — a private household in the OWL region — wanted to escape rising electricity costs and become more independent from their energy supplier. Just as important was the look: the system should blend calmly and elegantly into the roof rather than stand out.

The real challenge was consumption: a large share of the electricity is used in the evening and at night — exactly when the sun is gone but household demand peaks. A PV system without storage would have limited self-consumption sharply.

We planned a tailor-made 10 kWp system with around 25 full-black modules — fitted precisely to the roof area and consumption profile. The ReneSola modules in mono-facial full-black look deliver the calm, uniformly black roof the customer wanted.

The key to the evening problem is the Sungrow battery storage: surplus solar power from the day is stored and available in the evening and at night. A Sungrow hybrid inverter orchestrates generation, storage and the home grid — all turnkey from a single source.

Today the household supplies up to 80 % of its electricity itself — day and night. Instead of buying expensive grid power, daily life runs largely on its own solar power from the roof.

In the end the family saves around €1,400 in electricity costs per year and avoids about 4.5 tonnes of CO₂ — with a roof that looks more premium than before. From enquiry to commissioning took just around 8 weeks.
